Design Institute of Guangzhou Iron and Steel Group (hereafter referred to as the GISDI) is the independent design corporate organization which was established in 1980. Developing for more than twenty years, the GISDI is qualified with Engineering Design Institute of metallurgical (Grade B), Program Consultation (Grade B), Architectural Trades (Grade B) and Urban Planning (Grade C).

Nowadays the GISDI has a number of experienced and perfect specialists, including 17 senior engineers and 20 engineers; 2 National Grade-1 registered architects, 3 National Grade-2 registered architects; 3 Grade-1 and 2 Grade-2 registered structure engineers.

Our institute has a range of departments which cover more than 20 specialties. Such as Iron Making, Steelmaking, Steel Rolling, Industrial Furnaces, Mechanism, Electrification, Automatization , Combustible, Heating & Ventilation, Water Supply & Drainage, Configuration, Architecture, Plan Layout & Transportation, Exploration & Survey, Techno–economic Assessment, Engineering Economic Assessment, Urban Planning, Program Proposal, etc. Since its foundation, the GISDI has awarded many prizes with honor from the Guangzhou Construction Committee and the Guangzhou Metallurgical Organization.

In January 1999, the GISDI acquired the ISO9001 Quality System Certificate of Conformity. In April 2002, the GISDI earned the ISO9001:2000 Quality Management System Certificate of Conformity. In recent years, the GISDI has built up a new managing and operating system which bases on the Computer Science Network to meet the requirements of modern enterprise and achieve the goal of resources sharing, computerized management. We have applied the Network Drawing, Electronically Archive to our business. In this way, the GISDI can use the engineering design with overall computer techniques by CAD (Computer Aided Design) for 100%.
